What is the Funky Formal Fundraiser?
The Whitman PTSA Funky Formal Fundraiser (F3) is an annual auction event that raises money in support of Whitman’s academic programs, student enrichment, teacher training, and fun community-building events. The F3 is our second largest fundraiser and we need YOUR help to successfully reach our $30,000 goal! The income from the F3 helps the PTSA meet current year budget obligations –in other words, this year’s donations help this year’s students!
What is the event?
The F3 is an opportunity to connect with other Whitman parents during an evening filled with live music, heavy hors d’oeuvres, drinks, and dancing – all while bidding on terrific items and raising money to benefit our kids! The evening starts with a silent auction, raffle ticket sales, Wine Grab, and desserts to bid on. The bar opens at 6pm and the buffet around 6:45. The Mini-Live portion of the auction starts at 8:00pm. This includes Raffle Drawing, Heads or Tails Game, a Gift Certificate Frenzy, a couple of high interest items and concludes with a direct appeal Raise the Paddle. At about 8:30pm, the live band starts back up and the dancing kicks into high gear.
Why "funky formal"?
Some people love dress up, some people don't. Funky Formal allows guests to come however they feel most comfortable. Dress up or dress down, go funky, go formal, go both, just show up!
This year we have a "theme" of Show Your School Spirit and wear GOLD!
